Chris is 59-years-old and was born in Chester, PA.  He has five brothers and two sisters, all of whom he is still close to. At age 16, he started helping his father with a driving company and fell in love with the trade.  Christopher went to Chester High School, graduating in 1980. From there he went to Bradford Vocational Technical School to become a truck driver, graduating with high marks due to his prior experience working with his father. He drove 18-wheelers for 23 years before sickness sidelined him indefinitely. He has fond memories of driving and longs for the days when he was able to see the whole country and work at the same time. Christopher enjoys bowling, fishing, and mentoring young people.

“My concern was, where would I go if I have nowhere to go?”

Matt: Okay, so just to clarify, there was an outbreak. You stay at the Salvation Army homeless shelter currently, and there was an outbreak within the shelter and the shelter shut down. At that point, what were the challenges or concerns you had with everything going on? I know it was pretty hectic. In your own mind, what were your challenges and concerns happening right at that time when there was an outbreak?

Chris: Well my concern was, where do I go from here? I didn’t know the Salvation Army was going to put us in a hotel. So we did have some place to go because there was no way I really could have went to my sister’s because my mom was there and she’s 96. I couldn’t take it to her. And I couldn’t go to my daughter’s because I got grandchildren there. So my concern was where would I go if I have nowhere to go?
