Oliver was born in 1959 in Philadelphia, PA and was the oldest of eight siblings. He began working while attending Benjamin Franklin High School. Later, in 1976, Oliver obtained his GED from Temple University and was eventually hired as a nursing assistant at Lankenau Hospital, where he was employed for 10 years. Then, in his late 40s, he found his passion working with computers and network infrastructure. Oliver has two children and six grandchildren. He enjoys learning new languages, mostly Chinese, and is teaching himself classical guitar.

“I felt I would be in a compromising position medically.”

Matt: Okay. And do you feel like your health was compromised due to that?

Oliver: Possibly yes, because that’s one of the reasons why I’ve stayed in house because COVID was mostly affecting people from the lungs, you know, not being able to breathe. And so, they talked about people with pre-existing conditions and their health being compromised, so I felt that I was one of the ones who would be in a compromising position medically.
